Located in the heart of Chennai, Reframe is a premier center for mental health and psychological growth. Our team of experts addresses both clinical and non-clinical concerns, providing comprehensive services to promote holistic well-being.
We define mental health as a state of complete emotional, mental, spiritual, and social well-being, where individuals can realize their potential, manage life’s stresses, work productively, and contribute meaningfully to their community.
Our mission is to offer a one-stop solution for psychological well-being. Services include psychometric assessments, diagnosis, psycho-education, psychotherapy, counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation, and tailored workshops—all under one roof.


Dr. S. Thenmozhi, M.A., Ph.D, Registered Clinical Supervisor (RCS)
Dr.S. Thenmozhi, Professor and Head, Department of Counselling Psychology, University of Madras. Additionally, she is also the Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychology, University of Madras, Institute of Distance Education (IDE).
She earned her Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from University of Madras. She was trained by Dr. Emma Gonsalvez, a renowned Psychologist and Psychotherapist from New York University, USA. Furthermore, she underwent intensive Clinical Supervision training to become a Washington State Certified and Registered Clinical Supervisor in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Seattle, USA in 2019.
At the University of Madras she taught for 20 years on various subjects of Counselling Psychology. She is an academic council member and senate member for the past 8 years. Currently she is the Dean of Madras University Alumni Association (MUAA) that was rejuvenated under her constant efforts and is functioning actively under her deanship. She also laid the foundation in establishing Ethics committee for Social Sciences, based on ICMR guidelines in our 165 years old University. This IEC Committee purely benefitted the students and research scholars. Currently she is the Member Secretary of Institutional Ethics Committee for Social Sciences and also the Member of Institutional Student Grievance Redressal Committee (ISGRC).
From her diverse and advanced training and experience pertaining to Psychology, Counselling and concomitant professions, she has organized and conducted numerous Special Lectures, Workshops, Seminars and Symposiums in the National and International levels. She has also organized and conducted 5 International Conferences on diversified themes in Psychology and at present, she is prepared for an international conference, scheduled in the end of March 2023. This is an indication of her tireless efforts in contributing to the field and the community.
She had been a Invited speaker and presented papers in Rhoempton University London, IAAP conference Chicago, Singapore , Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
She has supervised more than 150 Post Graduates, 11 M.Phil.s who have gone on to have highly successful careers in academia and clinical practice. Fifteen students have completed and have been awarded PhD degrees and currently 8 doctoral students are working under her guidance on diverse topics.
She has conducted many major and minor projects funded by National and International bodies and currently she is the project investigator in a project entitled “Promoting Mental Health in Schools –A Collaborative BioPsychoSocial Mental Health Programme in Chennai, India” funded by RUSA 2.0. She is on the editorial board of InSPA Journal Applied School Psychology and is the National coordinator for InSPA.
From 1998, she has been engaged in part-time private practice of clinical, counselling, and family psychology. For over 10 years she has been conducting screening camps during the summer to identify children with learning disabilities and other developmental disabilities, to make certain they acquire the appropriate remedial measures and therapies along with parent counselling. Since past 6 years, she is conducting summer camp focusing on the personality development of the school students and each year, 30 – 40 students are engaging and getting benefitted out of it.
Philanthropically, in an effort to increase the well-being of human kind the she is a Managing Trustee and the Honorary Director for Srishti Special School (for children with Intellectual Difficulties, Learning Disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorders).Also she served as a Special Counsellor for the Family Court, Madras High Court, Chennai providing special counselling services for the couples and the families who are going through divorce proceedings from 2006 to 2012 and is also
Dr.S. Thenmozhi has received numerous awards and honors from and around India. She was the recipient of the Best Institution Award from the then Chief Minister Dr.J. Jayalalitha in 2014, and Award for Excellence in services in the field of Learning Disability from TRIKA in 2016. She was honoured in the 9th InSPA International Conference with the InSPA-P.K. Subbaraj Trust Best Performance Award on 2019 at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gujarat. She was the recipient of the Best Alumni award from the JBAS College for Women, Chennai. On behalf of Srishti Special School, she was honoured in the Indywood Education Excellence Awards - Tamil Nadu Chapter where Srishti Special School has been the proud recipient of the “Outstanding Contribution towards Special Needs Education” conducted at Taj Connemara, Chennai on 2020. She has been honoured as “International Esteemed Women Professor Award” on 2021 from Center for Professional Advancement, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. She has received 15+ Best Paper and numerous Best Poster Awards from National and International Conferences in and around India.
Dr.S. Thenmozhi have authored 6 books under the spectrum of Psychology. She has been consulted and interviewed by major newspapers, TV and radio stations, on a variety of counselling and psychological issues. Her youtube videos on Women empowerment are viral. She is a lifetime member in International & National Psychological Associations including American Psychological Association (APA), International Association of School Psychology Malaysia and also a member and state Convener of Indian Association of School Counselling. She severed as a chairman BOS in IDE Psychology and University Nominee for various reputed colleges including WCC, Ethiraj, Bhakthavachalam college for women.
